markieshero 0 Posted December 5, 2011 My 16valver temperature gauge has stopped working! I have read that the BTS(blue temperature sensor) is the sensor which controls this but where exactly is this, I though it was the sensor located half way down the engine block on the right hand side? but someone told me it was located front left the engine...can someone give me a confirmed kill on this on! :) Also Im guessing that this sensor also controls the coolant fan operation?? Is that true?
davidwort 0 Posted December 5, 2011 the coolant temp sensor is on the top right of the head, near the water outlet. there should be 2 or 3 of the same small senders (black tops) which are identical but used for different systems, idle control, ecu and dash gauge. you can swap them around to see if one isn't working as it should. boost monkey 0 Posted December 5, 2011 Also the sensor that controls the rad fan is inside the radiator itself, one of the bottom corners IIRC.
