hipcity 10 Posted December 8, 2011 Hi all After a week of not driving my 2.0 16v corrado - the battery went dead. I had to charge the battery for a at least 4 days and by continually turning the key - got the engine to start. Anyway - a long story short - once the engine started - it sounded like a tractor and puffs of smoke started to come out of the following in the picture for about 5 to 10 minutes??? 4 days later the car starts find every time and sounds fine wit hno smoke. Any ideas what the part in the picture is as it looks broken?? Thanks
RW1 0 Posted December 8, 2011 Not broken. Where the garage can connect up to analyse exhaust gas (CO level), .

dannyboy 0 Posted December 8, 2011 looks like the piece on the end has broken off though, which accounted for the black soot all over the bay.go to a scrappy and grab one off another vw.their common item and its just a small piece of plastic/silicon.Or weld/bend it shut.I have never seen a garage use this for diagnoistics like its designed for. CazzaVR 0 Posted December 9, 2011 As above- you just need a new rubber bung. Happened on one of my old valvers too- sounds hilarious!
