24V Renshaw 0 Posted February 4, 2012 Have you scanned it on vagcom? Fingers crossed its nothing mechanical. Are there any other symptoms at all? Jay

_Meth 0 Posted February 4, 2012 Ok what is it? 16v, g60 vr6? What did the plugs look like - dry and white or soaking wet? Have you checked all the obvious things first like burst vacuum hoses? Intake system?
swiftkid 1 Posted February 4, 2012 By your username I'm presuming its a VR6. Any colour in the smoke? Whats the oil like? Has it been using any water? I would definitely get it on VAGCOM before you go spending money on guesswork. I had a problem with mine when I first got it, the ECU had gone up the spout and one of the injectors was constantly firing so was using stupid amounts of fuel and ran terrible. Its rare that it happens but just something to bare in mind.

Jim 2 Posted February 11, 2012 Good stuff.. I was going to suggest lambda as running badly, terrible economy and smoke is faulty lambda symptom - but also interesting to know it's a MAF symptom too :) Glad you got it sorted.
