Tps?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I assume when people talk about TPS they mean www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk?

 

Their website seems to indicate they only sell to the trade. So do you guys just make up a fake company name when registering or do you just rock up to the counter no questions asked?

Officially only sell to the trade. It depends on which branch you go to if they will sell to the public. My local ones are sweet, at the end of the day they see our money as being as good as the trades. So they will sell to me but I've heard of some places being snotty and sending people on their way. Pot luck really.

I thought they sold to everyone but offered discounts to trade people.

 

The one i use in Collindale has never asked any questions.

The one I tried (Swindon, I think it was) wouldn't sell to me. In the end my local VW dealership bought the part on my behalf and the sales mngr (who I don't even know!) collected it for me. I was most impressed with my dealership! :D

That's basically it, but as said maybe pot luck - Nottingham branch very good indeed. Local VW dealership even suggested I might as well go direct to them instead of coming to the parts counter. Some of the guys were very much into Cs.

I visit the Nottingham branch too and they are very good. The dealer have sent me to TPS when they didn't have what I wanted in stock.

Yep Sheffield one is brilliant too, they even deliver to my work place free of charge which is 10 miles from their depot. now thats customer service :)

Bristol is hit and miss, I had an account set up for me when they found out I stopped working at a main dealer as I was previously using their account.

Most of the guys there are very good, but a couple don't see me as 'proper trade' and I'm sure would rather not have my business.

 

To be honest though the discounts arnt much better than you get from a main dealers if you're a regular!

The TPS I go to will sell to everyone but I only get 8 percent discount. My local VAG dealer gives me 10 percent. How much of a discount are you guys getting from TPS?? Are you getting trade prices on the parts you purchase?

Anyone one in the Basingstoke area we have a tps as part of the group do I can order in as staff and get it delivered to me at the dealership. Let me know if you need to order anything. Don't want to get involved in posting stuff out etc :)
