Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Took my sump off yesterday and noticed that the bolts that hold it in place aren't the same. Some are 10mm bolts, some are round with 7mm allen key hole in them? Also notice they are slightly different lengths. Will get a photo when i get home. A bit worried that the threads have been messed up on the block as some came out with bits of alloy stuck in the thread on bolts. Turning into a right old job this corrado  Edited March 15, 2012 by Jim Bowen i just like it

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 15, 2012 VW changed to an allen head in later VWs, so it doesn't matter what type you have really.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 15, 2012 i might just buy some new ones, so they all match, is a pain having to keep changing tools
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 15, 2012 Yeah that's what I did when I fitted the 24V sump years ago. They weren't much £s.
