laurielaeks 10 Posted March 23, 2012 Hi, having a look around my engine bay and I notice this wire hanging loose with a single connector on the end unconnected to anything. Does anyone know what it's for or if it has to be plugged in? It's the blue and white cable situated under near the blue sensor on the front of the engine. Thanks
_Meth 0 Posted March 23, 2012 What engine? Could be for the temp sensor? But dont quote me on that lol
owen g60 10 Posted March 23, 2012 It's supposed to be empty. Can't remember what it's for but wasn't on uk cars. It's a g60 correct??
P3rks 11 Posted March 23, 2012 I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but my guess is this is for the wiring for a interior oil pressure gauge which was an optional extra. I'm led to believe that some cars came with the wiring from the factory as standard.
KIPVW 0 Posted March 23, 2012 yeah VR6's have one spare too which has a yellow wire. something to do with internal guages as said above :)
RW1 0 Posted March 23, 2012 On the G60 if its blue with white stripe, wire is the oil pressure sender connection to the oil pressure gauge if fitted. Wire ends up at the back of the Fuse/Relay plate as a single connector if not used. Extension to gauge is blue with yellow stripe. .
