Could you help me identify this wire?

Recommended Posts

Hi, having a look around my engine bay and I notice this wire hanging loose with a single connector on the end unconnected to anything. Does anyone know what it's for or if it has to be plugged in? It's the blue and white cable situated under near the blue sensor on the front of the engine. Thanks

I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but my guess is this is for the wiring for a interior oil pressure gauge which was an optional extra. I'm led to believe that some cars came with the wiring from the factory as standard.

On the G60 if its blue with white stripe, wire is the oil pressure sender connection to the oil pressure gauge if fitted. Wire ends up at the back of the Fuse/Relay plate as a single connector if not used. Extension to gauge is blue with yellow stripe.
