Flying Bacon 10 Posted April 30, 2012 Hello! As the title says I'm from Gotland (an island in the Baltic Sea), but I've been lurking these forums for quite a while. As I've read and learned quite a lot from here, I thought why not create an account! Have also been buying some things through ebay.co.uk, maybe from someone here - who knows? Bought my '89 Corrado G60 in august 2010, in a pretty rough shape. But, since I pretty much knew I had to have it the moment I laid eyes on it plus the fact they're incredibly rare here I didn't have much of a choice! A lot of the paint was more pink than red, the exhaust system was utter crap, the cloth interior - especially the drivers seat - was bad and the g-lader needed to be overhauled. But just the feeling of driving it meant a lot more than that. It was/is also mostly rust free, as they don't use salt on the roads here in the winter. Since that I've put almost 30 000 SEK (about 2 700 GPB if my conversion app works as it should) in only different spare parts, both for the engine and exterior/interiorwise. Does that mean I'm welcome in the mad Corrado owners club? :D Anyways, here's a couple of recent pictures of it: If anyone wants to see more, I have a few more pictures uploaded on my profile at the Corrado Database: http://www.corrado-database.nl/index.php?item=view_corrado&id=5721 So if I post anything or become interested in buying something that you've put up for sale, you hopefully know a little more about me now! :)

Flying Bacon 10 Posted April 30, 2012 Wow that's a lot of replies, thanks! :) It's been a few times when the car would have me losing hope, already when we've just signed the papers and paid for it, it refused to start when attempting to drive home. Turned out to be a faulty ignition switch that the previous owner "fixed" by wiring in a stupid starter button. Since that I've experienced for example haunting idle, going from almost dying to 2500 rpm - very funny with a leaky sports exhaust system at a set of red lights... This winter's problem was that it was overfueling like a pig, and was down to 2-3 cylinders when the temperature dipped below about 5°C. It seems to be back to normal now though! :) Regarding the paint, I guess I've just polished it a lot more than the previous owner ever managed to do, so the paint is holding up for a few months and then have to polished back up again. The worst parts are the bonnet and right rear quarter bit, I think you can spot a slight difference in color in some of the pictures. So it's just like any old red paint I guess... And yes, Gotland is quite known for the sheep, that and what's called a "rauk" (strange stone formations), like these: http://gotland.vingar.se/gotland-faro-0509gotl-153.jpg. The latter I think is a bit unique for the island, but the sheep is pretty much like sheep everywhere I think! So why the island have become so famous for the sheep is bit of a mistery to me. Oh well! :D
