ChrisL 18 Posted June 22, 2012 My cooling fan belt has come off, the one that runs the secondary cooling fan. Has anyone managed to change one without taking the radiator off? Any tips please!!
neuon2003 0 Posted June 22, 2012 Yes. I just did this recently. 1. Remove the plastic cover attached to the slam panel. 2. Remove the four screws holding the fan cowl to the radiator. The fans themselves are fastened the cowl. You can pull the cowl away from the radiator. 3. You can then get your hand/a long screwdriver in there to put a new belt on/replace the existing. 4. You might find the screws are in poor shape and will be awkward to remove and may need replacement. Only costs s few pence from the dealers. A new belt is about £10.00, if I remember correctly. GusPW 0 Posted June 22, 2012 Did mine without removing anything other than the small plastic guard. 5 mins of fiddling around with a wire coat hanger.
