288mm brakes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Quick question re bigger brakes set up - I have calipers and new brake pipes for 288mm conversion, but no bolts to fasten pipes to the calipers - where do I get bolts from? (VW?) do I need a washer as well?

Thanks.

Yes and yes you'll need two washers each side, although i believe that there are two thread depths (1mm and 1.5mm) so be careful

Thanks, but not sure what you mean by thread depth?

Daleyboy is referring to the pitch of the thread when he mentions "depth" pitch of a thread is often thought of as a reference to the coarseness of the thread. It is the measured distance between any two neighbouring simillar points along the thread. So if one had a bolt with a metric thread described as M10 x 1.5, the 1.5 would be the thread pitch. Hope this helps.
