A plug for a sensor that's not a sensor... VR6 question!

Recommended Posts

I've been poking about in my engine bay and pulled off this plug on the valve between the head and the inlet pipe

However inside of the grey socket, I see this:

You can clearly see it's blank inside... no metal contacts for the two pin plug to actually plug into just two plastic stubs... can someone explain to me why this is?

In colder climates that would be a heater, but for warmer climates it's a blank and perfectly normal. Yes, Britain is classed as a warm climate :D

Ah so thats what the spare plug is for near the throttle body. I know the fake sensor on the PCV is normal, but wasnt sure what the plug with no home was for. Didnt seem to affect anything so didnt fuss about it.

Cheers!

So is that sensor delete-able? I would assume so... one less wire and connection to worry about!
