Looks like it's now in the correct place to me! ;)

Lovely looking Bug that, I used to work on one that looked very similar when I worked at the Beetle specialists (Congleton Beetles) when I was younger... I always wanted on that looked like that... 8)

That looks like a really nice example... Beetles were the thing that got me into this whole dub mess!

What engine are you running? Love those BRM rims 8)

Hi Henny

Its been in my family 8 years with me owning it for 2. Its not been to congleton beetles in our ownership.

Before that it was owned by two brothers for ten years. Maybe then from 1985 to 1995 ish?

It been a Stoke-on-Trent car for 30 years so not a million miles away from Congleton.

Does Congleton Beetles still exist? I think I heard of it when I was getting into the VW scene in the mid nineties(I'm only 22 at the moment).

Dave

:D :D :D

Congleton Beetles closed down in about '96... I worked there on and off (during school holidays and weekends) from '91 to '95... That could well be where I've seen the car from then... 8)

Looks nice though anyway... 8) The Corrado's none to shabby either! :D

Black 66, couple of good looking cars you have there :D , what wheels you running on the bug ercos, centerlines, what width are the fronts, or is it a narrowed beam.

Also how much have ou lowered the VR by i have just ordered a kit which is 40 mm just wondering if it will sit at a similar height.

Hi Eliot,

Thanks for the comments.

The bug runs raceweight  ERCOs. 3.5 inch bubble versions on the front which make the beam look narrowed due to their total offset. :D Helped by the 125 tyres I use!

The VR is lowered on Eibach springs with KONI adjustables. The Eibachs I think are 35mm drop, or maybe 40mm, so yours should look similar. Just right in my opinion. :D

I also read on some other threads that people were unhappy with the Eibachs, saying they don't sit level front to back, but mine sits perfectly.

Nice Bug yourself by the way. The perfect stance. You going to Big Bang. Wanna race? :D :D :D

If I get my new motor finished within the next 2 weeks

Dave

Raceweight ercos, gotta watch for potholes then eh. Was gonna get myself a set of street weight ones a while back and may still do but need to get the corrado in shape first.

Would love a race but firstly i need a new gearbox then i have to bolt on all the bits i have lying around the garage such as ratio rockers, starter motor, dynamo, new exhaust, then need to clear out all the unecessary stuff from the car from some free horsepower and et the engine set up then i may be in with a chance. (anyone got a few grand lying about they dont want) by the way are you running an open stinger on the street. Do you get any probs from the cops.

What engine you got just now?

Eliot
