Serial 0 Posted September 1, 2012 Hi all... I'm in need of a replacement VR6 OBD1 loom - the multi way connector looks to have got some water in and caused a short, then melted the plastic. I seem to remember some time ago seeing a link to a guy (Bristol way?) who was a VW electrical expert... basically I'd like to get the loom refurbished and wondered if anyone had any ideas who might be able to do this? Thanks, Tom

VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted September 1, 2012 i recentley had my loom out for my engine conversion {loom not available sorry}, to remove it from the car is abit of a nightmare because of the way it goes into the cabin in the tight space so the brake servo and master cylinder needs to come out , if i was you i would just un wrap the loom tape back from the plug and trace the wires back as far as you can and hope you find the break in the wires in the engine bay and not past the brake servo, its easy to repair the wires so i wouldnt bother paying a specialist £50 + an hour to solder a few wires back together, auto electrical wire+ solder+ heatshrink+ loom tape = under £20,
Serial 0 Posted September 2, 2012 I've got one off my breaker if you decide not to refurb. How much would you be looking to sell it for? I'm after the whole OBD1 engine loom from the multi way plug to the various sensors.

Serial 0 Posted September 4, 2012 Can do it for £20 posted? Sounds good - I'll PM you my details. Supercharged - that's good news. I'll investigate getting a new plug for the bay side of the loom. Cheers Tom
