nrc 0 Posted October 22, 2012 I've been running with the Schrick for a while now on an unmodified ECU and I'm due to be fitting SP 263 cams shortly so it's about time I got a remap. I plan on making some other mods next year (final drive, 6 branch manifold, etc) and I don't want to have fork out for another remap after a few months to see the benefit. I presume if I go to Stealth they'll do a fully custom map and not a purely off-the-shelf job, so am I better off waiting until it's all done or will further mods not really need further mapping once the new program is in? tony_ack 0 Posted October 23, 2012 Mapping should be he last thing you do tbh - the map should be perfectly suited to the engine set-up you have. Stealth do do a custom map by the way.
nrc 0 Posted November 1, 2012 Yeah, I'm going to wait until I've got everything fitted, I think. One other question: would a mapper (let's say Stealth) remove the EEPROM from the ECU and solder in a socket for the remap, or just swap the ECU out for one that's already been modified? GlosterOx 0 Posted November 1, 2012 When my VR6 was remapped the ECU was opened up,chip removed, and a new one soldered in. Ian.
