ECU mapping after modifications

Recommended Posts

I've been running with the Schrick for a while now on an unmodified ECU and I'm due to be fitting SP 263 cams shortly so it's about time I got a remap.

I plan on making some other mods next year (final drive, 6 branch manifold, etc) and I don't want to have fork out for another remap after a few months to see the benefit. I presume if I go to Stealth they'll do a fully custom map and not a purely off-the-shelf job, so am I better off waiting until it's all done or will further mods not really need further mapping once the new program is in?

Mapping should be he last thing you do tbh - the map should be perfectly suited to the engine set-up you have.

Stealth do do a custom map by the way.

Yeah, I'm going to wait until I've got everything fitted, I think.

One other question: would a mapper (let's say Stealth) remove the EEPROM from the ECU and solder in a socket for the remap, or just swap the ECU out for one that's already been modified?
