sent private messages

Hi Mods,

 

Tried the search but no conclusive answer.

 

Sent messages don't always seem to show in my sent box, do they have to be read by the recipient before they will show, anyone else find that they have sent a PM and then are not sure if it delivered or not...

There used to be an 'Outbox' on the old forum where sent messages went until they'd been read, so I would think your assumption is correct and they have to be read before they appear in 'Sent'.

I do remember the old outbox actually, will wait and see if the mods can help.

I think you have to tick the box that says "keep a copy of this message" to store a copy of sent messages. Otherwise it doesn't save a copy.

Thanks Krishen you are quite correct, there is a lesson there, it's called "reading the small print" haha, can't remember ticking it on the few recent messages that have saved though....

Go to General Settings and it's an option you can enable whereby sent messages are saved.

 

If you want to track a message, there is a read receipt option you can select when you send a message.

 

The 'old' forum isn't comparable - we're on completely different software now.
