chopper666 10 Posted March 17, 2013 hi my brakes failed on me yesterday the pedal just went flat too floor and there was no pressure or brakes:suprised: the fluid level hasn't gone down and I cant see any leaks after about 10 or so pumps the brake pedal comes back too me. could be possible airlock but I don't think it is. any idears on what it could be like a possible servo or brake pump or any other thing many thanks in advanced
swampy 0 Posted March 17, 2013 If it comes back after you pump the pedal it sounds more like the master cylinder seals have gone

swampy 0 Posted March 17, 2013 It's not a hard job. Find the correct mc and swap them over then bleed the brake system

Hope this helps.
bmwcompact 10 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) Early cars came with or without ABS. You will see lots of adverts for new non ABS masters for the early cars (22.2mm bore): thats what vwspares are selling. All VR6/ later 16v have ABS with brake master cylinder 358 611 019D with 23.8mm bore. Its obsolete so you need to find a used one. I dont believe you can even find a new set of seals. It was also fitted to some Golfs of the same period (92/93/94 ish). Try something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-2-0-16V-BRAKE-MASTER-CYLINDER-/190807311685?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c6d008545 No connection to the advert, right part but no guarantee it functions???
