daveb142 10 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi there I'm currently at the beginning stage of starting a 20vt conversion on my corrado. I'm just wondering, what is the point in the metal power steering pipe that bolts through the front cross member? It looks as though it's a cooling pipe, however I don't see why the power steering fluid needs to be cooled? Was thinking of removing it and just running a straight pipe to the power steering pump. Then I could bolt the intercooler in front of the radiator. Would doing this cause any problems? Does the pipe need to be there? Cheers Dave
wormy 0 Posted June 6, 2013 Yeah, it is a cooling pipe. The reason for cooling it, is that the power steering fluid is compressed quite a bit by the pump - up to 80-100 bar or so(?) - and that creates a bit of heat. :)

daveb142 10 Posted June 6, 2013 Ah right fair enough! Might do what Marni said and just move it down under the cross member then :) A toyosports one off of ebay when I get around to purchasing it! Cheers for your help guys!
