wiring in three-port charging socket

My cigarette lighter socket is too feeble to hold a charging connector (perhaps needs some tightening), but that notwithstanding its not an ideal position anyway relative to the gearstick.

Whats the best way to wire up a 3-port socket to the main socket to have it available for a satnav or phone? Has anyone used any quick disconnects to allow you to remove it when required?

For the likes of sat nav and phone you could wire in a multi USB port, some come with extra power supply which could be 12v (from memory)

 

That would cut the amount of space needed and give you the options you want

Where is a good switched live to take? - just checked the cig socket and its a permanent live
