vw bobby 10 Posted August 28, 2013 Hi all, Basically I can get my hand on a 1.8T complete engine with loom, and ignition barrel and key, so basically everything i need. I am not sure which model the engine is, but can find out later tonight. Also how can I tell what engine code the engine is? I have a 1991 corrado KR 1.8 16v and my question is this a straight fit into my engine bay? will it fit onto my subframe, will I need to alter the driveshafts and will the loom just plug into my original loom, will I need to change the gear linkage and lever, will I need to change the pedal box, ect? Can I do the conversion over a weekend? How easy will this be to do? Please shed some light on this and share some thoughts please. Cheers Bobby
paddy26 3 Posted August 28, 2013 the engine code is written on the head, beside the timing belt cover. there is a post dedicated to 1.8t conversions here which should answer all your questions: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=36117 doing the conversion over a weekend is ambitious, especially if you end up missing 1 part and all shops are closed. \Paddy
VR6 0 Posted August 28, 2013 Thanks Paddy, I think the thread above should provide sufficient answers.
