Jim 2 Posted September 27, 2013 Also worth mentioning as this has become a bonnet cable parts discussion that the little grub screw mentioned on the first page that secures the cable into the last 'trumpet' is available individually from VW still - I know cause I bought one last week :)
Kempy 0 Posted October 8, 2013 Back onto the cones again sorry, I can't get both latches to unlock with just one and a guide,do you need 2 both with the grub screws? Thanks again.
dumptyboy 0 Posted October 8, 2013 It's just the one at the end of the cable that needs a grub screw ( the end behind the passengers headlight. I had the same problem as you after fitting a new cable and I tried adjusting it several times and it would only pop one side. I ended up spraying loads of wd40 on the release mechanism and the part on the bonnet with the spring and it's been fine since. Don't know if that will help you though mate? Make sure the cable is routed properly at passenger side, its easy to get it wrong although it looks ok. I made this error recently
