leon263 0 Posted December 18, 2013 Not sure if this is the right section but here goes. Ever wondered what size of a spanner you need for a M12 nut or bolt or what size of nut fits a 10mm spanner? Here's a quick list of the more common ones on your Corrado. M4 7mm M5 8mm M6 10mm M8 13mm M10 17mm M12 19mm M16 24mm Probably useless info. but it might come in handy for the less mechanically minded.
Diamond Hell 0 Posted December 18, 2013 Just don't ever rely on that list! Strut to hub bolts: 18mm nuts Various trim screws: 9mm heads M12 subframe bolts: 18mm nuts Peened M8 nuts: 12mm nuts Sleeve joints on exhausts - 16mm and 15mm heads M12 wheel bolts on 5-stud cars: 17mm heads. Elsewhere: Japanese M8 bolts - 12mm nuts Japanese M10 bolts - 14mm nuts Generally the spanner size is what fits the nut - that would be my best guide :thumbleft:
davidwort 0 Posted December 19, 2013 yeah, lots of manufacturers use different sized heads on the same diameter threads for bolts you don't want to confuse, e.g. 16mm and 18mm suspension and mounting bolts on VW's
