stuarttaylor37 13 Posted January 11, 2014 I recently bought a Vr6 with 153,000 on the clock. When I took it for an Mot last month the tester commented on it having exeptionally low emissions. Would it be safe to assume from that that the bores/rings are in good shape?
stuarttaylor37 13 Posted January 12, 2014 Anyone?
Portent 0 Posted January 12, 2014 Depends on whether the previous owner was using really thick oil I guess as that would be less likely to get forced through.
stuarttaylor37 13 Posted January 12, 2014 i don't know about that as it had been standing for three years and the person I bought it off took it lieu of a debt and then left it parked up! I've just bought a new filter and 10/40 so i can service it
Harrier 1 Posted January 12, 2014 Probably the best way to judge how good the bores/rings are will be how much oil it uses over time, though low emissions are a good start !
