Stone0311 0 Posted May 21, 2014 I know this is usually a bad idea when trying to clean an engine but wondered if its an option. Before transplant its going to get a good dose of tlc, paint and polish; Q is can I use a pressure washer to clean it first? Its on a stand, nothing electrical apart from sensors I can protect, all openings covered - also will be getting a new head gasket etc anyway. Can anyone see any issues? robrado974 1 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Cannot see a problem there Stone , i still would not go to mad with it . I would coat it in the autoglym cold engine cleaner first and leave it for a while , then another coat . Then wash it off . When its dry repeat again but use a wire brush , use the small ones to get in the hard to reach areas . Then another wash off . It's also an option to use the cleaner , wire brush off and use a rag to clean off as well . Rob Edited May 21, 2014 by robrado974

clumpy1 11 Posted May 21, 2014 Cheers Rob, is that autoglym stuff the best gear to use? Better than gunk etc? There is plenty that is better or worse dependant on how it is used
sparks 0 Posted May 21, 2014 id tape off the sensor connector sockets just to be on the safe side costs nothing and saves a major heart ache after if your second guessing after a misfire
