Banks88 10 Posted July 23, 2014 Hi everyone Developed a possible new issue. When I turn the key to position 1 for the electrics the radiator fan starts running but the car hasnt ran for a few days so is cold! When I turn the ignition over again to crank the engine it stops? Have I got some sort of radiator fan temp switch issue or am I just dwelling on nothing? Thanks
Gti_Jamo 10 Posted July 23, 2014 You should have a fan control module mounted below your coolang expansion bottle. There notoriously bad for failing and causing your symptoms.
fendervg 32 Posted July 23, 2014 Other thing to check is the fan switch in the radiator itself.
Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted July 23, 2014 Sounds like a duff relay to me.
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted July 23, 2014 Fan run-on is controlled by fan control unit as described above and by yellow sensor on the thermostat housing. Have a look at the Definitive Cooling Guide. Best wishes RB
fendervg 32 Posted July 23, 2014 Mine stayed on without ignition and ran down the battery - replacing the rad switch solved it.
