essex dan 0 Posted July 27, 2014 Hi all im havin problems with a couple of switches in the rado. 1st up, the rear heated screen switch. theres power going in fine and the illumination works. but when the button is pressed nothing comes out the other side and theres no power on the outgoing cable, also the indicator doesnt light up. im thinking faulty switch 2nd. Fog lights switch. Agsin, got power power going in. If i press the front fog button, the indicator lights up (but not fully)but no fogs come on. BUT (heres the strange bit) if i press the rear fog button, both indicators light up fully and both front and rear lights stay on! again im thinking faulty switch, but im not too sure coz 2 of them? surley not! vw rule 19 Posted July 27, 2014 Hello there, fuse number 10 is for the fog lights (15 amp fuse) Relay number 10 is for the fog lights, this relay might have a number 53 stamped on it. (this relay is on the bottom row directly above fuses 12 to 14) There might be two relays side by side with the number 53 stamped on them, the one on the right is for your horns which is relay position 11, and the one on the left is for the fog lights which is relay position 10 Looks like on the back of the fuse box at the top there's a blue 10 pin multi plug in position P, this is where the wiring from the fog light switches and part of the rear demister wiring plug into. Fuse 17 is for the indicators and hazard warning lights (10 amp fuse) Fuse 9 looks like it's for the rear window demister (20 amp fuse) You should have power from the fuse box to the switches in question, then once the switches are operated they should then return back through the relay and out to which ever object is to be turned on. Check your relay is working correctly, the one in position 10 I'll have another look in the bentley manual if I get time. Hope this helps Si
essex dan 0 Posted July 27, 2014 ok that sounds like a good step in the right direction! thanks for that. im more concentrating in the demister at the minute, but surley as i press the button there should be power coming out the other side of the switch though? as i have none on the outgoing, i tested it from the back of the plugs

essex dan 0 Posted July 27, 2014 well im thinking its a problem with the switches more than anything as power goes in no worries, but it doesnt come out the other side lol same on the fogs switches, until i press the rear button then they both come on! strange eh
