16v9a Low coolant temp reading

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm sure the temps are fine but the reading on the clocks is hovering around 70deg

Where is the sensor,is it on the reservoir? Or is that just the level sensor

thanks again

I believe this could also be a symptom of your thermostat being stuck open possibly? The reservoir sensor is indeed just a level sensor.

My rado always sit's at around 70c with normal driving, even with a new sensor! I just let it be to be honest, Hasnt caused me any issues in 1.5 years!

swap the wires around as there's more than one identical water temp sensor, gauge, ignition ECU and idle control, that way you can see if all the sensors read the same, if they do and it's a stat problem then the car should get up to 90 degrees stationary but drop lower as you drive and airflow cools the rad.

thinking about it, the 9A may not have several of the single pole black top small water temp sensors, in which case all you can do is inspect the wiring near the connection and try a new sensor
