gollfy 0 Posted November 16, 2014 Hi all, I am trying to put the tensioning spring (shock) back on my g60, but I am having problems getting it back on. Is there a simple way to compress, adjust the tensioner so i can fit the spring back on? Any advice gladly recieved Dave
steveo29 0 Posted November 16, 2014 some people use a caulking gun to compress it , theres also been a fella on the forums making a tool i just put a rag over it and heave down http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Golf-G60-Rallye-Corrado-tensioner-tool-/201207229196?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ed8e2ab0c
sankysvr6 0 Posted November 17, 2014 Have a look at the stick guide futher up on here, for removing the supercharger. There is video at the end, which shows how to do it with a simple spanner.
Rustynuts 0 Posted November 18, 2014 Brute force is the only way if you don't have the right tool. Just get a spanner on it and push down. Be careful that it does not slip though as you could do some damage to yourself
