corrado wannabe 12 Posted February 18, 2015 Hi all, Looking for some advice, I am going to be buying new Bilstein B4 fronts, but have been told there are two available. One being for plus suspension and the other for base (or narrow track) suspension. Is the general rule of thumb that all plus suspension is 5 stud? Or are there some four stud (later years) running on plus suspension from the factory? Mine is a 94 (L) 2.0 16V and dont want to assume it is base suspension. Any help, as always, greatly appreciated. Dougie
Yandards 0 Posted February 19, 2015 Plus suspension refers to the widetrack variant fitted to the VR6s. There are some elements in last production year that get standardised across the range like the top mounts etc.
corrado wannabe 12 Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks Yan, I did think mine was standard and not widetrack. Better get them ordered today then, another job on the "To do list" Dougie
Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted February 19, 2015 All 5 studded vehicles came with the widetrack .
corrado wannabe 12 Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks Sean, I think it was just the run out years that can cause some confusion, as the 4 pot engines can have different suspension from the earlier years. Cheers Dougie
Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted February 19, 2015 That's it, post 93 or 94 (I can't remember) all cars got the wider suspension and just different shocks/springs depending on engine.
