Cressa 44 Posted April 15, 2015 M905 MHM (anyone know her) Has finally arrived on a trailer from south of Cheshire. She is a Dragon green VR6 with many issues, but hopefully with patience, advice and some money she can be restored to her former glory. On the plus side she has only 120k on the clock, all MOTs, lots of service History, a working rear spoiler and air con fitted I've spent the day giving her a good clean, getting the bonnet to unlock, windows to run smoother and standing back admiring. She is running on a set of old skool OZ Saturn alloys for now. She is slammed low on some crazy coilover kit and we struggled to get her on the trailer, so that has to go. Issues are many as i get to know her. The sunroof isnt working so i will try and look at that tomorrow. It has shiny pieces in the sliders so i will be learning as i look into cable problems. All the brakes need a change including pipes so i may upgrade to rear mk4 golf calipers. The engine sounds good to me with a leak from somewhere!! Thats for later. Yes i need the fog lights replacing and to investigate the aircon. Her body needs a good fettle but for now that can wait to. I'm busy hunting for a parcel shelf strap 535863447a to replace a broken one. The plan is to slowly start chipping away at it. I have a lot to learn as it isnt a Golf Gti. I promise to put some pictures on as soon as i work out how to..... and as i said before, if anyone fancies giving it a critical eye your always welcome if your passing j31 M1 Aston. Thanks in anticipation of your patience

southerner88 10 Posted April 16, 2015 easiest way for pictures is to get an app on your phone called tapatalk, you can sign into the forum on that and then post pictures from it too :thumbleft:
MZpog 10 Posted April 16, 2015 seems to be getting a few around these parts now You wouldn't think so, I drive mine daily and have only had 2 driving the opposite direction and it was possibly the same car. Met Wayne who is less than a mile from mine, but have never seen him driving about (must be all the garage time). Seen a couple parked up, including a green VR in Oxenhope, which is now sporting a "for sale" sign. Yorkshire meeting would be good. Cressa welcome aboard, your spanners will never go rusty. GlosterOx 0 Posted April 16, 2015 Welcome. The sunroof is a known weak spot of the Corrado, easiest method is to get a MK3 Golf glass mechanism complete from the breakers (around £20.00 in my area) and swop your metal panel over to it as the curvature on the Golf one is completely wrong. As for parcel shelf straps, try these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PARCEL-SHELF-STRAPS-PAIR-NEW-FOR-VW-CORRADO-VAG-/361245334697?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Car+Make%3AVW|Model%3ACorrado&hash=item541be65ca9 Ian. Adrian J 10 Posted May 16, 2015 Dear Cressa, Last night out of curiosity I wanted to know how my old Corrado was doing, so started checking forums with no luck - so just typed in the registration number into Google and bingo with ONE result - your forum question here ! So I'm Adrian the previous, previous owner and nice to see the car is still around. I purchased the car in Aug 2001 from Autotek,nr Guildford (with 53K approx on the clock, so that mileage is genuine and doesn't seem to have done many since sold) they're still going, but were a specialist Corrado dealer at the time and 12 years later (Oct 2013) I finally sold M905 to a young Irish chap called Robert (surname escapes me)in Tarporley, Cheshire. An absolutely wonderful car which I really loved and had difficulty parting with. I had it regularly serviced with specialist garages and any problems were quickly fixed - there weren't many. It was totally standard when I had it apart from OZ Polaris alloys which I chose when I bought it- name on the rim possibly still the same and it was Classic Green (see sticker in boot)unless it's been resprayed. The sunroof used to be lethargic if the battery was low so check that first (but perhaps you've already done these jobs) and the Air Con was a dealer after fit by Diavia (spelling ?) and needed work, it did work fine for many years, but had a £500 quote to fix so didn't get round to it. I'm a little surprised it had to be trailered, but not surprised by the coil overs, Robert gave the impression he was going to show the car and do work on it. Anyway all the best Cressa with the recommissioning of M905 MHM - still a lovely looking car in amongst modern stuff and such a capable car with loads of torque. I've got pictures to follow taken when selling. With kind regards Adrian Jones, Chester.
Cressa 44 Posted May 17, 2015 Thank you to everyone for the helpful words and advice. With any luck the rear axle, suspension and brakes should be on this week. Then it will be time to look at the front end.... The ABS light never came on, so that has been repaired and now does'nt go out:oops: but im working on it. Ive had the whole interior out for a good clean and shampoo so that was a good point. The rear arches have been wax oiled although a slight hole needs a patch welding on it. I continue on my quest to restore her to some former glory and an MOT. Adrian, great of you to get in touch. You will be welcome to have a drive of her one day. Did the aircon work when you had the car? and did you put the OZ Polaris alloys on her? The spanners are busy and i look forward to meeting everyone one day. The bodywork will be the last job. Back in the garage for me now :smug:
