massbad69 10 Posted November 18, 2015 So my very cheap Speedlines arrived and I gave them a very very rough spray to see what I like. Pics are rubbish but one in silver with black inserts and the other black with silver inserts. If I was doing 2 colours I think against the grey car I would do black wheels with grey inserts or just black all over ??
massbad69 10 Posted November 20, 2015 Picking the car up tomorrow from the bodyshop. Pics look amazing with all the dings all removed, the front arch blister cut out and new metal welded in then the stonechip reapplied and blown in. Then the tailgate glass removed and the main blister cut out and new metal welded in and then the full tailgate painted. Car will get professionally paint corrected after Xmas to bring it upto the best standard I can.

massbad69 10 Posted November 21, 2015 Looks brilliant mate 8) Thanks I'm happy with the finish and it's now a rust free car. Now need to think about starting to do something with the pile of parts in the garage
massbad69 10 Posted November 21, 2015 My daily GTD goes into my detailer on Thursday for 2 days work so i popped on his FB page and he has a deal on with his gift vouchers. Xmas special deal £50 gift voucher for £35, so my 5 day full car paint correction is £300, which is already cheap but now it's only £210. His quality is brilliant and he is already great value but now it's a proper bargain :thumbleft:
massbad69 10 Posted November 26, 2015 Got a price back for getting my spare Speedlines powder coated black but with a diamond cut lip which I think will look great on spacers front and rear
massbad69 10 Posted November 28, 2015 Stole or borrowed this idea. Cup holder for the Rado. So easy it's only a 70mm P clip and attached to the front seat fixing in the already drilled hole. Read the idea on this forum and praise to its inventor  It even folds up out the way Going to do the passenger side as well.
RFvr6 10 Posted December 16, 2015 Any update on the Alpine speakers? you had them fitted yet, also do they plug in with the standard connectors and fit correctly?
massbad69 10 Posted December 16, 2015 I've just done the rears as not doing the rest til next year, wife just had an op and running after her and the 2 lads. The rears just needed the adapters to plug and play. So I'm presuming the rest will be the same.
massbad69 10 Posted December 31, 2015 Got a fair bit of things to do before the good weather comes. Bought a spare stat, housing and seals etc as well as a few odds and sods from Bob, as well as another P clip to put the cup holder on the passenger seat as well. Still awaiting a date for the paint correction so I can then start fitting all the parts that have stacked up. I'm looking forward to 2016 to get it looking decent and everything working and getting some miles and shows under my belt.
massbad69 10 Posted December 31, 2015 Randomly my detailer just text me and the VR goes into him for tlc on the 18th January, result. Then once home I can start playing.
massbad69 10 Posted January 14, 2016 Car goes into the detailers next week for 5 days. Paint correction being the main job but also glass polishing and then if there's time, interior deep clean and engine bay. Metal pressed legal number plates ordered and new oil cap arrived. Once the car is back then I need to start fitting all the parts, starting with the speakers, plus new headunit has been found, just needs bought. It's an Alpine CDE-136bt. massbad69 10 Posted January 14, 2016 I think this is my favourite car on here. Post some pics after the detailing! Thanks very much. I have used my detailer on all my classics before to get the paint as good as it can be and I prefer doing that than putting new paint on and I think a car needs character with its little marks and chips. massbad69 10 Posted January 14, 2016 Wee pic of other bits - Fuel filter Spark plugs Spark plug tool Strut top caps Stat, housings and seals Abs sensors Original stereo which makes me think do I put that back in for originality or replace with the Alpine unit ? diarmaid16 1 Posted January 15, 2016 I'd fit the original stereo.
delfinis38 1 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Alpine... I decided to go back to origional a while back it lasted a week... They look good but quality of listening is rather rubbish... Keep it though. Edited January 15, 2016 by delfinis38
massbad69 10 Posted January 15, 2016 My thinking is the same. I like the original look with the modern sound. I did put an orihinal NOS headunit in my Sportline mk1 and that was reasonable quality. Decisions decisions.
Harrier 1 Posted January 15, 2016 I have left the original Sony radio cassette in mine, which is pants but have a wireless speaker for my I- pod when I'm out and about :)
delfinis38 1 Posted January 15, 2016 My thinking is the same. I like the original look with the modern sound. I did put an orihinal NOS headunit in my Sportline mk1 and that was reasonable quality. Decisions decisions. try it and see..... I worry about the buttons on the original unit in constant use from past experience they are very fragile after 20 years... and getting another head unit from that era is very difficult..... my head unit will only get changed for show. harriers idea is good... haven't you put alpine speakers all round ? so waste of time fitting original sony. massbad69 10 Posted January 15, 2016 Yeah Alpine speakers all round so it looks like Alpine headunit will be getting purchased when I have the funds Cheers
