Hi everyone, not new to VW or Corrado's but time to give the old girl sone TLC and get some advice from all you experts 😊

 

This is my 2nd corrado VR6 and I've owned 3 mk3 Golf VR's and 2 mk4 GTI TDI 25TH Anniversarys over the years. Sold my old Corrado to my buddy @fishmaestro and he helped secure a tidy blackberry VR for me coming home from a couple of years overseas.

 

Living in East Lothian Scotland and can honestly say I've only seen 2 other Corrado's since returning 18months ago. Maybe I'm not getting out enough, although the good one's are definitely getting harder to come by!

 

Not got too much planned at the moment but I've spent the last few months trying to source a decent set of 16" BBS RX 5x100 to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!

 

Also looking to replace wing mirror glass as edges are tarnished, is there a how to thread on here?

 

Last thing I'm looking to do with the weather change is a windscreen wiper/wiper arm upgrade, do people still recommend the Lupo GTI ones?

 

Looking forward to learning some tips and sharing some pics n progress!

Welcome back to the Corrado fold Matt!! Not many Corrados left on the roads, although there seems to be a pretty decent Scottish contingent. There will be even less now winter is creaping in as there are very few daily drivers anymore.

 

Have a look in the Wiki section, or do a search on google using the words "corrado.net-how to replace mirror glass" or words to that effect, which should throw up a how to mate. Which style RXs are you after? Quite a few RXII about in 16" as they were on most of the Mk4 Golfs, although no doubt most will need a refurb. RX228s are quite a bit harder to come by in 16" and not sure what fitment they'll be either as I don't think they were done in this size for VAG cars.

Lastly, yep, Lupo GTI (2 x drivers side) or Audi TT wiper arms are the recommended way to go. Not cheap from the dealer but they do crop up from time to time on here and ebay etc.. A must upgrade IMO too mate.

Hi mate I'm in West Lothian and just bought a VR6 after years of Golf mk1's.

 

I've already done the Lupo wipers and got them on eBay for £30 posted, just refurbed them and got new blades and bolt caps. All in for £50 and they look spot on.

In nearly 2 year and 13,000 miles I have yet to pass another Corrado on the road up here.

Cheers Sean, thanks for the info :) I'm after the 1 piece rx228's. Currently bartering for some as they defo need a full refurb and tyres!

 

They're looking great massbad69, I'll keep my eye on eBay but got a mate in TPS if need be!

 

They're definitely few and far between now, love that so many don't even know what model it is!

Can you recommend any enthusiast garages in Edinburgh at all? I was using Andy at ACR down Teeside way for servicings through a mate but it's a bit of a trek! What wheels are you running out of curiosity? Open to alternatives if I don't get my bbs although I've got quite attached to the standard speedline look this time around!

I use Hawes Garage at Sth Queensferry but they are not a VW garage but have been superb in over 5 yrs looking after my mk1 Golfs.

 

Is there not a specialist called Autohaus in Edinburgh ?
