dinkus 10 Posted July 3, 2004 Well after spending a day working on the C (well most of it was driving around to get tools ) we almost got done and I sheared one of the hub bolts. Doh. However, we have been taking pictures at every step of the way, so a write up on how to replace your top mounts and brake disks will be up here as soon as we get done. But my question to you guys is... now that I'm gonna be getting some new strut-hub bolts from VAG, what is the torque setting for them? I don't really want to shear another one and I certainly don't want em falling off while I'm driving! Oh and also thanks to kev for not calling me an idiot when I called him asking how to get the top mounts off. Stay tuned...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 3, 2004 Do you mean the two bolts that clamp the damper to the hub? 75 lb/ft is sufficient mate. And no worries, I'm always at the end of a line to help out when needed  K

dinkus 10 Posted July 4, 2004 Oh and the caliper carriers are fun to get off too...
dinkus 10 Posted July 4, 2004 Err while I'm asking, can I also get the torque settings for the hub-carrier bolts and the carrier to caliper ones too? Chars
