sankysvr6 0 Posted March 28, 2016 Bought some new striker pins, as the old ones are looking a bit tired. Tried getting them off the drivers side one off and it's not budging. Using a 15mm spanner it feels like it's going to slip. Anyone got any suggestions for removing. They not left hand threaded are they? Also the new pins I bought from eBay are Febi ones, which fit a 14mm spanner. Is that correct to the people that have replaced them before.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted March 29, 2016 If you have a long reach socket use that
sankysvr6 0 Posted March 29, 2016 Do you mean a deep socket?
seanl82 23 Posted March 29, 2016 Yeah use a 6 sided deep socket if you can.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Yeah mate Also if you havn't done already mark where the striker pin currently sits so you dont have a problem when lining up your new one. Edited March 29, 2016 by Jon_vr6

sankysvr6 0 Posted April 1, 2016 Got me deep sockets yesterday, and managed to get the striker pin off. Fitted the new pin but just not sure about the quality of the new ones compared to the original old ones. Going to see if I can source some new ones from the dealers.
