Green VR6 Storm for sale in Essex - SOLD

Recommended Posts

It is time to sell...I don't get the time to use it like I used to, due a change of job, and now my kids need to learn to drive in something I can insure them in. So, it needs a new home with an appreciative and attentive owner.

I’ve owned the car since September 2010 and have done around 10,000 miles in it, mostly travelling to cycling events with my bike, as it is remarkably practical. The car has had 6 previous owners, but only 2 for the first 119,000 miles, and is currently on 133,300 miles. It is generally used weekly, and is kept in a covered carport overnight, It is original apart from being fitted with a Jetex exhaust (the original no longer being available) and having had the engine re-mapped by DG Autotech to 210bhp to remove flat spots. They also fitted a 40mm Weitec suspension kit, and upgraded the headlamp wiring loom. Air conditioning was added in November 2010 by A/C Engineering of Chertsey and has been serviced regularly serviced by them.

It has a full service history, and has been generally looked after by VW Auditech of Chelmsford, and I’ve serviced it annually regardless of mileage. I have all my receipts, as well as those from the previous owners, plus the original purchase invoice.

The biege leather interior is in very good condition, and was fully reconditioned in November 2013, which included re-bolstering the front seats. The front seats were converted to heated by Sol-Ace in Buckinghamshire in April 2012. The sunroof works well, although it is never used.

The exterior is in very good condition, and was fully re-sprayed in June 2011. There is a little paint bubbling on one rear wheel arch and on a roof groove (photos below), and one mark on the driver’s door thanks to a careless person in a carpark. And according to the last MOT, there is also a little corrosion on the sills, the front floor pan, and on the rear coil springs.

The last MOT certificate, at 132873 miles, said the following:

- Front wiper blades streaking slightly

- Some movement in steering column. My note - the steering rack gaiter was replaced shortly afterwards.

- Front offside constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt offside. My note - the nearside CV joint gaiter was replaced shortly afterwards.

- Brake pipe slightly corroded offside front and offside rear (front to rear metal brake pipes slightly corroded)

- (offside sill slightly corroded)

- (offside and nearside inner sills slightly corroded)

- (offside and nearside front floor pan slightly corroded)

- coil spring corroded nearside rear and offside rear

- (nearside front lower suspension arm ball joint dust cover deteriorated)

It is MOT’d till 26th August 2016.

The alloys are in good condition, having been refurbished in 2011. There is also a spare Speedline set with a couple of Nokon winter tyres that are used for 4 months each year, but they could do with being reconditioned.

It is no longer alarmed (3 alarm systems causing conflicts with each other, and draining the battery, so they were removed). Instead, the car has been fitted with a new remote central locking.

Additional work carried out in my ownership:

Speed sensor replacement

Crank position sensor replacement

Brake sensor recondition

Starter motor

Ignition coil

Door handles

Front wishbone bushes, ARB links, tie rods & ends

Rear discs/pads/bearings (at 125,000 miles)

Sunroof mech/motor

DG Autotech headlight wiring loom

Viewing available most weekends or weekday evenings, but I travel abroad for work a lot, so may be unavailable for a week or two at a time. The car is located just outside Chelmsford, Essex

£5,000 ONO.

Any questions please ask, and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks for having a look,

Richard
