petemcr 10 Posted June 7, 2016 He guys Quick one, I was reading that if your RPM needle doesn't move when cranking over the engine that it can be the sign of a failed crank sensor, anyone got any more info on this? I've tested resistance on it and it came back with the right resistance but there is deffo no movement of the RPM needle when cranking Cheers in Le advance

fendervg 33 Posted June 17, 2016 Pretty sure the needle doesn't move when cranking, but will check later.
fendervg 33 Posted June 20, 2016 Can confirm needle does not move when cranking a fully working engine. I think the RPM signal comes from the hall sender anyway and also the ignition coil, so will only show when ignition is running as well as the engine turning. petemcr 10 Posted July 27, 2016 Thanks for clearing that up fella, loads of posts I'd ready said it should twitch but I don't remember it doing anything when it was on the road. Cheers
