Drivers door lock issue

Been trawling through the posts on door lock problems, but have not found a solution.

My issue is when I lock the car all the doors lock, boot and the petrol cap. The issue is with the drivers door the central locking is moving the button down on the door but the door is not locking, but will lock perfectly ok with the key. I have looked at all the wiring as it was mentioned it could be a loose/ broken wire behind the membrane. The wiring seems ok and i do have movement on the button as i mentioned, so it is ponting towards a faulty lock? or could it be a deeper problem.

More likely the rod/mechanism not engaging properly, or the plastic linking part.

As Sean says . The plastic clip that connects the door rods a has probably broken. I think you can still get these. Cheap as chips .

I'm sure the problem will become apparent , when you remove the door card.

I checked every thing apart from the rod part.
