I think my alternator has failed as last night I was driving home and i found that the radio and cabin fan stopped working and the headlights slowly dimmed until the engine died and wouldnt start until i got a jump and i just made it home before it died again. Jim 2 Posted January 15, 2017 Yeah which means your alternator isn't doing jack unfortunately. I'm not too familiar on the ins and outs of alternators as it's possible to replace certain bits without a full rebuild / replacement.. but either way I'd say your problem is in that neighbourhood! Jim 2 Posted January 15, 2017 The only places I really buy parts from these days are VW, VW Classic Parts, Euro Car Parts and AVS. It's always a bit of a lottery though unfortunately.
