HT leads.

Recommended Posts

Managed to damage one original ignition lead. Looking to replace originals.

2 questions: Is it worth shelling out for blue igniters from C&R? If so, how much: 'phone for price' scares me a bit. Will 8mm leads fit in the guides and is there any advantage to 8mm over 7mm?

The 8mm leads do fit but not as snug a 7mm. You need to trim or file the plastics to get them to fit but they are ok.

Which lead did you break?

I have a couple of spare black leads so with any luck, it might be one of them.

I had beru leads for years in mine and think they do the job fine. Never really agreed with expensive ht leads on a near standard car.

Decent leads are vital on a VR6 (if it's a VR6, don't think you said).

Only ones that won't give problems are Dubpower 10mm, Magnecor and VW/Bremi.

Dubpower 10 mm's are best, Magnecor and Vw/Bremi much of a muchness. 10mm's won't fit in holders, mines got separate 10mm holders, 8mm Bremi's will but might want to trim holder a touch as detailed above.
