Scorpion alarm killed the car

Recommended Posts

I had a call last night from a friend who has a 1995 VR6 and his battery went flat and now the alarm seems to be playing up. It's still on the factory scorpion alarm / immobiliser.

You can only open the doors via the key but then the alarm goes and the fob won't turn it off. The car will then turn over but it doesn't fire up so assume this is the immobiliser kicked in.

Tried a search but can't find anything of use. Also tried the factory reset with the ignition on and re-connect the battery and hold the fob down.

Any ideas welcome please?

Chris

Can this be moved to the right section please! Guess I shouldn't post using my phone!

I have from new a 1995 VR6 Storm , green with 53000 miles. The Scorpian alarm has been a real pain , draining the battery , really difficult to reset and the siren always going off. Recently it would not reset despite every attempt and the car was immobilised . Enough was enough and I researched a new alarm , the COBRA AK4198

and found a firm , based near Manchester ,Autosecure , [email protected] with 25 years experience of car alarms, conversant with Corrado,s

Gary travelled to Hull and removed all the old system and fitted the new system including new colour matched sensors, new door, boot and bonnet switches, new interface relay and battery backed siren, plus an installation confirmation certificate.Excellent job and alarm at a price less than the original in 1995

Have you tried re synching the fob to the alarm? Scorpion alarms have a habit of going out of sync, caught me out a couple of times but It's easy to do. This applies to fobs with two buttons.

Firstly, hold down both buttons on the fob until the light stops flashing(approx 10 secs), then press down the small button (approx 2 secs I think, been a while), then press the large button and the alarm should then work as normal.
