GusPW 0 Posted March 29, 2017 Im going to be changing my water pump and removing the engine mount bolts in the process but I remember reading somewhere that the bolts were single use stretch bolts but cant find the info anymore. Is it a bad idea to reuse them? (they are probably only about 4 years old)
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 29, 2017 I've only renewed mine once and had them out about 6 times, my engine hasn't fallen out yet.
robrado974 1 Posted March 29, 2017 I've never heard of this either .I did replace mine when I did the underside, I bought new to go with the new mounts . The front mount bolt was in excellent condition, I was surprised really. As said though I only renewed them as I wanted it all pristine.
Simeon 0 Posted March 29, 2017 They aren't stretch bolts so just reuse and torque up :)
GusPW 0 Posted March 29, 2017 Thanks, that's what I hoped to hear, I must have got it confused with something else.... It's surprising how quickly costs for bolts and bits and pieces builds up... Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
