The bit that holds the very end of the throttle cable onto the throttle lever

Recommended Posts

Hi all

1992 Corrado G60

Luckily I was only travelling at walking pace when it snapped instead of during an ambitious overtake!

Can't remember exactly what was holding the cable on but assume it's plastic because of the broken shards on top of the throttle body.

Want to avoid buying a complete throttle body if possible.

If you can help, please let me know

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

There should have been a metal clip holding the throttle cable's 'trumpet' bit onto the throttle disc.

Get me a photo of your throttle body and if it's that missing I'll send you a spare as I've got a few..

Whilst your there, remove the idle screw and wrap a few turns of PTFE plumbers tape around the screw's thread, they have a nasty habit of coming loose and falling out.. Revs shoot up high with a weird whistling noise..

Little hard to tell from the photo Andrew, it looks like your gonna be needing the actual throttle actuator, the bit that the cable clips into and not the retaining clip itself.

I've probably got a spare one, later on I'll check and let you know mate.

It's the small plastic block on the end of the actuator that has failed.

Here's a photo of the one on my car for reference.

Well I did manage to unearth the only one I had, only problem being that the bloody thing is damaged too..

The little metal finger that opens the second butterfly is missing.

I've also got one off a 9A valver engine but it looks different.

Sorry mate.
