Front brakeshield fitting

Recommended Posts

Has anyone fitted any of the new front brake shields yet?. I'm having an issue where one end is pressing againt the abs rotor(see pic) the rotor can't go any further in, so is it just a case of bending the shields or shimming them?. It's the same on both uprights. Cheers982abfdaeaab8ad0980a9a9bcb8ba24f.jpg

I have one fitted.

Contact easypops on here or search for a thread on this. He was the guinea-pig for this and put pictures up for the trial fitment of them

Thanks just checked and it looks like the part that is pressing against the rotor is the wrong side of it, but sure how that has happened it some adjustment is needed

I was indeed the guinea pig, I think my pictures will have gone due to the photobucket issue, I'll try and add them again here

I think what has happened is I have pushed my hub too far so it is too close to the knuckle. The rotar also rubs against the sensor as well as the shield. I assumed you pushed it in until it stopped, but maybe not? Can anyone advise me on this?

I'm not really sure mate? Is the bearing all the way in? As the hub can only go in so far(I think?)

I'll take a picture of the back

Hi

Just to add, out of all the sets sold so far we have had no issues reported or returns. I am (have fitted 1 side) fitting a set myself but my car is not ABS as its on a mk2 with a Corrado G60 brake set up.

Will keep an eye on this to see the outcome, i hope you get sorted

Hi, its definately not a problem with the shields they are fine, it's down to how my hubs are fitting in the bearing
