carrots 1 Posted January 22, 2018 my corrado has jumped out of 1st gear twice now.ive got no strange noises or crunches .could it be something on the way out or me just not putting it into gear proper.its a 1.8 16v
dr_mat 0 Posted January 22, 2018 Normally this is a result of wear in the synchro on 1st gear. You could have a go at adjusting the gear selector mechanism but I doubt that would fix it. That said, it only happened twice..... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
carrots 1 Posted January 22, 2018 It's only done it twice so it will have to wait untill it gets really bad

Geeba 0 Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) Change the oil. I've only ever had 2nd gear issues, usually a crunch and it was indeed the synchro.. oil change did extend the life a little and reduce the frequency. Edited January 22, 2018 by Geeba
