Knocking and rubbing on the drivers side .

Recommended Posts

Really annoying as I’ve renewed all the underside parts other than the suspension. I don’t think it’s a top mount . Mainly it’s on full right lock , you can hear a rubbing noise , I’ve had a look on full lock but I can’t see anything touching . The wheel was hitting the anti roll bar a while back but I thought I’d sorted that . Sometimes when pulling away or reversing it clonks too .

Did you change the CV joints Rob? Worth making sure the inners CV joint bolts are tight to the cups. When the Wifes beemer had the clutch changed the garage didn't do the prop shaft bolts up properly and it knocked when pulling away. By the time I'd pulled the undertrays off to see what was going on, 2 had come out and were rattling around in there, and the rest were bent!

It could be Sean . I didn’t change them , but they were removed to get to other parts . Definitely worth checking as you say .

Pretty sure this is steering/ suspension related bandit . I will have to book it in , it needs to go on a ramp really .

Are the drop links secure/intact?

I will get them checked , it’s all new under there, but something may have worked loose .

This definitely sounds like a real clonk , like metal on metal .
