No spark

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

This is my first post so hopefully someone maybe able to help :)

Just bought a project 1993 corrado vr6 model.

It needed an engine loom which I've replaced. I have power to the coil but i have no spark at the plugs.

I have changed leads, rotor arm and cap.

Before I buy anything else could anyone give me some pointers on where to look or test?

I also can't here the fuel pump prime?

Looking forward to getting my new toy back on the road. It was my good mates old car but its been sitting about for 7 odd years and now i have the chance to breath new life back in the old girl.

2 previous owners and only 98k miles on the clock!

Check the relays mate. ECU and Fuel pump relays - 67 or 167, and 108 iirc. They're located just above the fuse box.

Welcome to the forum by the way. Get some pics up and lets have a gander! :thumbleft:

Well a couple of relays were miss placed when i changed the engine loom.

I found a diagram on google and put them back to there correct positions.

Then I had a spark but no fuel.

I sprayed fuel down the inlet and she fired! ;)

Then I took out the fuel pump and run power direct through it.

It was struggling to pump so I've ordered a new one from eBay and hopefully it should be here mid week.

Thanks for your replies.

Pics to come this week :)

Cheers
