Kaiser7 10 Posted May 23, 2018 Mine were sitting flush with the gearbox casing before taking the old ones out.So I just knocked the new ones into the same position. The seals have a double lip that runs on the plated journal of the driveshaft cups. There might be a witness mark on them where the old ones ran on them. Bauhaus 3 Posted May 24, 2018 Oil seals are normally pressed fully in to seat on a machined lip in the gearbox casing to keep them square in the bore, so you should be ok if you have used the correct oil seals.
