WTB Corrado Sunroof Left Cable Assembly (1h0898015a)

Recommended Posts

Bummed as my metal sunroof has finally succumbed to the inevitable failure of 90's vintage crappy cast metal parts. In my case I need a Left Cable Assembly 1h0898015a (not Passat part 1h0898015 which will not work properly with metal sunroof).

If you have one for me, I would greatly appreciate the contact.1h0898015a_diagram.jpg

Well done in getting it sorted. Make sure you clean all the rails out and lube with the correct grease, otherwise the same may happen again....

Check the FB Corrado groups - one of the guys one there remade the parts on both sides as far as I know - hopefully someone on here has the exact details. The VAG repair kits themselves that come with new cables are no longer available, although they do come up on the secondary market every once in a while.

Everyone that has a working sunroof should remove it, strip it down, clean and re-grease as a matter of a 25yr+ service now

precisely what is happening on my VR atm - hopefully it will revive it

IIIRC i have already changed the motor for a better second hand one a few years ago

it used to move ok on manual but motor struggled so am hoping it is just gunked up & the tension cut off is not letting the motor strain
