bopnud 0 Posted December 22, 2022 I have a 1992 corrado slc and it has been making what I can only describe as a clacking noise coming from the timing side of the engine. This noise is worse when it has been outside in colder temps and I noticed today as I filled the car with gas the noise significantly quiets down. Is this a timing chain issue or something else. Thanks.
_Matt_ 32 Posted December 23, 2022 Possibly - timing noise starts off being noisey when the engine is cold and quietens when it warms and eventually makes a noise all the time. Any history of them being done? If you do consider using the plastic mk4 tensioner instead of the original metal tensioner.

I went ahead and ordered a timing chain kit from urotuning so I can update once that goes on.
