What speed does your spoiler go up?

I'm picking my new C up on sat and when i went for a test drive i noticed it doesnt go up until approx 60mph,on my previous C it went up at 45mph why is there such a difference?

Also Does the 16v spoiler go up at a different speed to the VR6?

it depends on the market the car was intended for mine goes up at 120kmh (german). american ones goes up at 45mph i think

I'm not alone then !! i noticed the same when i got mine 3 weeks ago !!

My 2.0 16v seem to come up about 45 mph , were as the vr comes up about 55/60 ? :?

Late cars up at 56, down at 15.

 

Early cars up at 45, down at 15.

 

You can vary the raising and lowering triggers by changing the resistor in the control box, which is clipped to the dash above the offside face heater vent.

Agreed with Kev, that sounds consistent with my '93 16v(45mph) and '95 vr6(56mph).

Marcel - as said above, the VR's either go up at 45 or 56. 92/early 93 should be 45 and the rest at 56.

1994 2.0 16v - 56MPH

1992 G60 - 46MPH - definately won't budge until you are clearly over 45MPH! :)

Interesting that, as VW definitely afjusted the speed for the target market. So, in Germany (no speed limits on the Autobahns), a G60 raises its spoiler from 120 km/h onwards, lowers it again from below 30 km/h.

 

My US-spec one raises its spoiler at approx. 80 km/h, as otherwise the US folk would never see the thing go up with their speed limits :lol:

93 VR - 45mph - my old valver's spoiler must have gone up about 200mph or maybe 45 - in REVERSE as it never worked no matter how many blue wires were disconnected! :lol:

93 VR up at 45....but now goes up at 63 now I have modified the spoiler controller.
