A20 LEE 0 Posted August 23, 2004 air intake pipe (MAF to wing) POWERFLOW £20 cheers -pablo Do you mean between the MAF and the throttlebody? I'm after one manufacturing to replace the rubber pipe. The ABD looks abit naff and doesn't fit properly from what i've heard. Good luck making it perfect, still working on that one myself.
pablo_vr6 0 Posted August 23, 2004 no going to replace the std airbox with a pipe going from the MAF down into the wing behind the bumper then use my hks mario mushroom there :)
jedi-knight83 0 Posted August 23, 2004 get the proper VW discs.. they work very well with the pagid fast road pads and are pretty damn cheep even from VW! ha bout the only thing that is reasonably priced from VW mind you
jedi-knight83 0 Posted August 23, 2004 no going to replace the std airbox with a pipe going from the MAF down into the wing behind the bumper then use my hks mario mushroom there hmmm diy air intakes....good luck... they dont spend time and effort developing the standard box or after market kits for nothing you know...you can seriously cock up the performance of the car by just adjusting the intake length etc....just make sure its all reversable
pablo_vr6 0 Posted August 23, 2004 oh yeah defo reversable. just a pipe to the wing. have the hks in now but its in the engine bay which isnt the greatest. its seems to get damn hot in there!! thanks for the tip on the discs - will get them while getting the lupo stuff. OSV 0 Posted August 23, 2004 The 90mm spoliler is about 380 from GPC now :(
pablo_vr6 0 Posted August 23, 2004 HOW MUCH!!!!!
MikeVR6 0 Posted August 23, 2004 50 mm from spoiler looks better IMO. Take a look at the before and after shots of my old 16v in the gallery. Also, the 90 mm one is in danger of getting ripped off once you lower the car and attempt a speed bump. I've bought a Turn2 CAI kit, hopefully it will improve my performance a little. Congrats on keeping the car BTW. 8) C u at the next Club GTI meeting! :)
pablo_vr6 0 Posted August 23, 2004 MikeVR6, ii was only going to try the 90mm as it was £30 but t seems that the price is way wrong so it wont happen. ordered discs and pads from GSF (xdrilled discs and pagid sports pads). picking up the lupo stuff tomorrow (£18 per arm + vat) decat getting done in the morning along with intake pipe (depending on time). suspension stuff to follow later :) gti meet this sunday mike? should be there. OSV 0 Posted August 24, 2004 sorry typo £80 approx.
MikeVR6 0 Posted August 24, 2004 The "before" pics of my 16v show the standard 90mm spoiler. Looks like a feckin snow plough. I then got a smaller VR6 50mm spoiler from GPC and had it sprayed Light Grey Metallic at the same time as my Reiger grille. Although it was the right shade of paint, it took to the spoiler strangely and never quite looked right. If you really want one of the 90mm ones, my other VR6 came with one and I'd prefer a 50mm. Swap ya?
pablo_vr6 0 Posted August 24, 2004 yeah mate might do :) throw it in the boot for sunday and Ill pop it against the car. should be on the eibachs by then :D
